MISSION STATEMENT

NSTMC exists to:

PREPARE Short Term Mission (STM) leaders with practical essentials;

PROMOTE discussion, insight and innovation in STMs; and

PROVIDE inspiration for personal spiritual growth in

order to strengthen STM practitioners

in all STM efforts worldwide.

VISION

The NSTMC desires to prepare and equip short-term mission practitioners to engage in healthy, indigenously focused missionary endeavors. These endeavors should incorporate mutual design between the local church, and both long-term and short-term mission entities. They should emphasize empowered partnerships and sustainable methods. They should also reflect the highest best practice standards.

Conference Description

Our annual conference draws upon experienced STM facilitators to provide challenging plenary sessions to cast long-term "big picture" vision. We also provide multiple and varied workshops to impart practical "how to" knowledge and wisdom for short-term mission practice. Plenary sessions also include a time for praise and worship together as a body of believers.

The NSTMC conference is geared to be both reflective and a fast paced learning environment - "like a hummingbird drinking from a fire hydrant". The schedule is constructed in a manner that allows participants to select from a wide variety of short-term mission topics, so that they can tailor their experience to their own, or their organization's STM learning needs.

Venue and Structure

The NSTMC is being re-introduced as an SOE official event after a 2 year hiatus. We will be working together with Casas Church in Tucson, Arizona who is providing us with beautiful campus facilities. Our goal is to conduct the conference in a way that allows us to minimize the cost of attendance, while maximizing the learning experience for those attending. To provide further savings, all air travel, transport and lodging is to be chosen and arranged by the individual conference attendees themselves. This provides choice when it comes to budgeting and personal preference. Casas Church will be our base of operations for the conference and is located in the spectacular Northeast region of Tucson. The location is a real jewel of the Desert Southwest. More information regarding specific hotel and tranportation options is listed under the "Location" navigation tab on this website.
